Following last year’s successful collaboration of NFR-funded Norwegian Research Schools in our Academic Career Development workshop​, we are happy to announce this year’s sequel at UiO on Thursday June 21st

Building your academic CV and writing successful project proposals

To successfully continue with an academic career there are many specific skills you will need to acquire and common pitfalls to avoid. How can you succeed with your project proposals, how to find that right project idea and what is important to remember, already during your PhD, when it comes to developing your CV? Join our academic career course and start thinking about the next steps in your academic career early on.

During our academic career course you will learn:

What to consider when applying for funding

How to build up your academic CV

The role of mobility and international networks in your career

How to plan and draft a proposal (where to start, how to structure, how the reviewers are making their decisions)

Technical proposal-writing techniques

Invited lecturers: Hugo de Boer, Brecht Verstraete, Tore O. Elgvin (NHM, UiO), Kari Beate Rygg, Nils Chr Stenseth, Sissel Jentoft (CEES, UiO), Unni Vik (IBV, UiO), Per Magnus Kommandantvold (NFR), Tom Gabriel Johansen (InfoDesignLab), Kristin Sandereid, Lise Rødsten and Aina Rengmark (Inven2).

Selection: IBA has a limited number of places in this course, and we will select those of you whom are most likely to benefit from this course.

Registration: Registration includes venue, teachers and food. Please note that we end the day with a tapas mingle at 16:30. IBA members and associates can attend free of charge.
