The University of Oslo – Domus Medica, are inviting you to participate in their Bioinformatics course level 1, 2 and 3.

This complete bioinformatic course provides you with an introduction to whole genome sequencing, applications of whole genome assemblies and building pipelines, and command line tools.

Level 1: Beginner’s course: Introduction to whole genome sequencing (2.5 hours)

– quality checks with FastQC
– adapter and quality trimming
– de novo & mapping to reference assembly

Level 2: Advanced course: Applications of whole genome assemblies (3.5 hours)

– SNP calling and phylogenetic trees
– RNAseq and differential gene expression

Level 3: Advanced course: Building pipelines & command line tools
(5.5 hours)

– How to build a 16S rRNA workflow in Geneious
– Creating WGS pipelines in Geneious
– Building a simple WGS pipeline in command line using Bash
(BBDuk trimming, SPAdes & Bowtie2 assembly, Samtools)
