About the Lecturer:

Christine Hanssen Rinaldo studied biology at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway, Tromsø. She studied the replication of the human BK polyomavirus (BKPyV) in vitro which led to a PhD in 2000. After two post doc periods, she was in 2005 appointed as a tenure-track senior scientist in virology at the Department of Microbiology and Infection Control in the University Hospital of North Norway. Here she has started an independent research group focusing on human polyomaviruses. In 2014, Dr Rinaldo became a professor in virology at UiT and got an appointment as professor II at the Metabolic and Renal Research group, UiT. Recently Dr Rinaldo started working on SARS-CoV-2 replication and immunity.
